Portfolio Session

Your portfolio, or book, is your best form of communication as a model. Your portfolio should say something about you.   It is how you interact with the industry that provides you with work. As you progress in your modeling/acting career, so should your portfolio.   A good portfolio is intended to convey a range of styles and ages that you are capable of.   It also needs to be kept current (it should reflect your age and body style for example) highlighting your best work during the past year.

Lets get to work!

Your session will start with a briefing on what to expect from the session. Then your hair and make-up will then be done.   Once your hair and make up is complete, it's the photographers turn (it's about time eh?). During the shoot, someone will be styling your hair and touching up your make up.  The photo shoot will last approximately 4 hours depending on how many "looks" and a variety of other factors.

  • What's included in the portfolio session:
  • A dedicated half day (approx. 4 hours) at our photographic studio. When your day starts is up to you, but we recommend a start time of around 8.30am. There my also be a trip out on location, weather permitting.
  • Make up and styling is provided as part of the session, or you can do your own if you prefer.
  • A CD containing images from the shoot, including a portfolio selection of retouched and print ready photos. Also on the CD, a file of Internet formatted images from your shoot.
  • A professionally bound, 20 page book containing the images from the session that you have selected.

Nude or not?

The only person who should decide what levels and styles you model, is you. You should never do anything that you feel uncomfortable with.  However, you should consider challenging yourself and growing as a person by stepping completely out of your comfort zone.

If you are thinking about including implied nude, partially nude, or nude photos to your portfolio, you need to consider a few things. Friends and relations may see your pictures, if this would make you feel uncomfortable, you shouldn't pose nude.

Posing nude does not ear mark you as working in the adult industry.  In fact, many of the opportunities in modelling involve high levels of nudity.  Just look at any of the fashions shows in New York, these modern catwalks and fashions include varying levels of nudity. If the likes of Gail Porter or Cindy Crawford and others are happy to bare all for their careers, then why shouldn't you?  Very few of the top models and actresses have never done nude work. Height and build requirements are also relaxed for this type of modelling. There is also high demand for good models who are willing to work on artistic nude projects.

Portfolios start from $595 depending on the amount of pictures and the diversity of the portfolio.  Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
