Modelling

"The model is not to be copied, but to be realized."  -- Robert Henri

"The body as well as the skin will hold the history of its experience." -- Hanneline Rogeberg

For the past 17 plus years, I have worked with some professional but mainly amateur male and female models for my exhibited fine art nude photography. I should mention that I am selective and that I only schedule one or two sittings each month (running a studio takes most of my time).  If you are comfortable with the theme of the images on this site, and are interested in modelling, please read on.

If you are 18 years or older, reasonably fit, and live within driving distance of Orlando, Florida, you are a candidate. Physical confidence, interest in my work, and a willingness to challenge yourself and grow as a person by stepping completely out of your comfort zone, are the most important factors that I take into consideration. Bust/breast size and height is not important to my work.

Nude modeling is the ultimate form of free expression. It gives us the ablity let go of all the restrictions put upon us by society.  Liberating and freeing us to just be ourselves.  I am looking for new subjects to provide variety in my work.

Here's what I look for in a model:

  • Confidence -- of all the qualities that come across in a photograph, this is number one.  You might be nervous (and that's ok), but confidence will shine past it.
  • Sense of adventure & fun -- I love it when a models share in the fun.  When models are enthusiastic, animated and move around, they are involved in the process.  Making it personal to them.  We are making art together.  Those models who can participate in the artistic process are the best.
  • Grace & energy -- while modelling, move around, show me different angles, take the concept and run with it, express yourself showing me something new.
  • Creativity -- if you have specific ideas or styles that you'd like to try to create with me, let me know.  New ideas are often challenging and a lot of fun.  Anything is fair game.
  • Reliability -- I understand that stuff happens, including last minute cancellations, but please let me know what's going on, and never stand me up.
  • Attitude -- stay within your comfort zone or break it, but challenge yourself to try something new.
  • Tattoos -- Let me know if you have any tattoos

Do I need to reveal my identity?

If you examine the exhibition images on this site, it worth noting that I do not need to photograph the model's face or reveal his or her identity, if they do not wish me to. I prefer the anonymous approach to the photographing the nude in most situations, as I seek beauty in form, not portrait. If you do not wish to have your identity revealed, this is not a issue.

What's in it for you?

Compensation for my exhibition photography is TFP (Time For Prints) basis. I will give you a CD containing photos from the session and some prints in exchange for your work. These well printed, 8 by 10 inch (black and white or color) pictures of the session that are suitable for framing or portfolio use. The number of prints depends on the success of the session.  With some limits, models can use the pictures we make together.

Please feel free to bring someone with you for your comfort and safety. The person you bring has to

  • Be comfortable with what we are shooting.
  • You have to be comfortable with them around.
  • They must be unobtrusive.

The red tape.

You must be willing to must sign a model release. This gives me ownership of the finished work and allows me to publish it. You may select a pseudonym for me to use or remain anonymous.

If you are interested, please fill out the modelling contact form and I will get in touch with you
